Customized Strategies/Logistical Efficiency

Our creative strategies include reducing overheads, finding new markets, and spotting cost-saving opportunities. We are always on top of ongoing market developments and will work with trucking companies on whatever they need. Starting from inside the warehouse & out on the road, we will look at all factors to determine what areas to improve on. Just a few examples of how we can help follows:

Bulk Report Evaluations- Evaluate the bulk reports on a day to day/week by week analysis. identify consistent problem trucks/areas/addresses & on which days they occur. Holidays? Just Mondays? Random orders?
Vision charts updated- Reorganize & update all vision charts so packages are loaded correctly – We will breakdown each truck route to ensure packages are being loaded in the correct place & the right order.

Package handlers are required to load according to a “vision chart”. Which is a numbered ordered system that loads the trucks correctly according to that trucks specific route. While companies like FedEx, Amazon, UPS etc may have different systems, they all essentially work they same way. Surprisingly, this can be a common hindrance for contractors, as trucks/routes, and even entire fleets can be changed.

Address Signs in Bulk Trucks- Create a truck layout template on how the truck should be loaded on “easy days, heavy days”
Laminated Route Map- Make a customized highlighted map of that trucks typical route.

Bigger FlatBed trucks that don’t have any shelves can be a nightmare for drivers & contractors to work with. While necessary to have these larger trucks for the volume of packages, constantly having these trucks loaded incorrectly can put a strain on your drivers as well as delivery service. Similar to the vision chart, TTC will create a customized “loading map” that will breakdown how & where the packages should be loaded.

“Peak day” contingency plans – Create a truck layout template on how the truck should be loaded on “easy days, heavy days”

Let’s be honest with each other, when volume is low, operations can tend to run pretty smoothly. But what happens when all of a sudden a business receives unexpected high volume? If you’ve been in the industry long enough, you know it’s not a matter of if, but when this happens. We will make contingency plans for when this issue does arise, so it doesn’t cause a domino effect that hampers the entire fleet. One way we can prevent it from happening again, is recognizing which businesses & residentials are consistent customers that could place these bulk orders.

Pickup List- expanded to make better and more efficient- Fully updated – will meet with on site contacts at regular business pick ups to get proper pickup times/windows

TTC will create relationships with these consistent business & residential customers.     In time with excellent customer service, they can call us ahead of time when they get a big order. This method can then directly be correlated to pick ups.

We will help create customized & updated pick up lists for every truck, including which are priority and/or late pick ups. At TTC we will physically go to the pickup locations, talk with whomever deals with the drivers, & confirm all the pickup contact information is correct.

Time Management- Which trucks/routes cause the most service issues? One truck with major issues can cause a domino effect with the entire fleet. The issues can vary for a variety of reasons. Is it an incorrect address on the route? Are one of these businesses closed on certain days? Too many IC’s overloading one section of the belt? Are packages just being loaded wrong?

Employee Survey- We will conduct an anonymous employee survey to really find out what the issues are from your employees perspective.

Unlike any other logistics consulting companies, we’re here to help from the pre-load to the last pickup of the day.
